Mr. Bentley also handles catastrophic personal injury matters and Insurance Bad Faith matters on behalf of individuals and business consumers.
A prominent trial attorney with more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Bentley has successfully litigated a wide variety of cases, including insurance bad faith, denial of HMO coverage, fire loss, art theft, wrongful death and personal injury matters. He has successfully tried over 20 cases to verdict with 8 settlements and verdicts of over $1 million dollars, including a $17.5 million dollar verdict obtained with Michael Bidart on behalf of a teenage boy rendered quadriplegic following a diving accident at a camping activity.
A strong advocate for consumers, Mr. Bentley is currently involved as the Court Appointed Lead Counsel on state-wide class action litigation against the leading automobile liability insurance carriers fighting the industry-wide use of biased computer software designed to undercut the value of “totaled” vehicles and billings submitted on medical payment claims.
In an effort to protect the rights of senior citizens, Mr. Bentley, along with William Shernoff, is currently representing senior citizens in both National Class Action and individual State Court matters, who have been duped into purchasing deferred annuities through an illegal trust mill operation. This unlawful practice has been the subject of articles in the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal. The California Attorney General’s Office is co-counsel on the individual State Court matters.
Mr. Bentley is a member of the San Bernardino County and American Bar Associations and Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles.
